The owners and key management personnel have over 35 years of dehumidification experience. Prior to founding Dehumidifier Corporation of America in 1995, the principals, Gary and Jim Metzger, founded Desert Aire. The success they enjoyed with Desert Aire, one of the first swimming pool dehumidifier manufacturers in the world, led to an unsolicited offer to sell Desert Aire to a holding company after being in business for 16 years.
Still having a great deal to offer the industry, the Metzgers soon found themselves developing new and innovative products, capitalizing on their previous experience and product knowledge, and bringing better more cost effective products to market. It was not long after that that they founded Dehumidifier Corporation of America, enlisting Graham (also from Desert Aire) and Jeff Gelhaar as partners in the new venture. Now in existence for over 18 years, Dehumidifier Corporation of America has emerged as the industry’s “Quality and Value Leader” as is demonstrated by a consistent rate of growth.
